On Saturday, the Hessian State Minister Diana Stolz (CDU) came to the German Gliding Museum to mark the anniversary.
“We are here on the Wasserkuppe, the birthplace of gliding, and we are passionate about gliding,” says flight school director Lukas Schmidt-Nentwig.
With her flight instructor Denny Bernsee, FZ editor Sophia Auth took off for the first time in a glider on the Wasserkuppe.
Lukas Schmidt-Nentwig is the full-time director of the Wasserkuppe Aviation School, the oldest gliding school in the world.
The focus of the evening in the festively decorated town hall was a special anniversary that is being celebrated this year: 100 years of the Wasserkuppe Aviation School.
A special kind of motivational gift: The society for the promotion of gliding invited the kickers of the SKG Gersfeld to two flight days on the Wasserkuppe.
We see ourselves as a modern service provider who cultivates a friendly atmosphere in the spirit of the flight pioneers and fulfills aviation wishes.
