The Wasserkuppe is considered an El Dorado for gliding. People come from all over the world to receive training at the gliding school, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
With a powerful jerk, the glider starts moving. Pulled by a steel cable, after a few seconds it is traveling at over 100 kilometers per hour and is climbing steeply into the air. Shortly afterwards, the cable is released.
The aircraft glides silently in the updraft over the border triangle of Hesse, Bavaria and Thuringia. The student pilot and his instructor in the cockpit have a spectacular view over the green hills of the Rhön.
